After she stopped growing at 5’2,” ending her dream of playing in the WNBA, Lauren decided to pursue a much less competitive career: writing and directing. Her scripts have advanced in the Blacklist WIF, AFF & Sundance. A graduate of USC Film, Lauren has worked for Matt Shakman on WANDAVISION, Kate Herron on LOKI, Rafael Casal & Daveed Diggs on BLINDSPOTTING, and Phil Klemmer & Keto Shimizu on DC's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW. She just wrote a comic book for DC (EARTH-PRIME #3) and is working on THE FLASH.
Her own directing experience includes a 10-episode dramedy web series starring Amber Benson (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) as well as several commercials and short films. Her most recent film BLUR, which she wrote & directed, starring Daniel Bruington (VICE) and Lexie Stevenson (The Young & The Restless), was an official selection for the Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival (2018), Culver City Film Festival (2018) HollyShorts Screening Series (2019), and LA International Women’s Festival (2019). It also screened at WME as a part of the 2019 #TFTRise Director’s Showcase. Her upcoming film Shiva (delayed shooting due to COVID 19) was selected for the competitive Panavision New Filmmaker Program.
In 2021, she had a feature and TV pilot advance in the Austin Film Festival competition and a TV pilot that was a second rounder at Sundance Labs. Most recently, her feature film script Me & My Mother-In-Law was a top 100 Tracking Board Launch Pad Script 2021 and a Quarterfinalist for Final Draft's Big Break 2022. She’s a member of the Alliance of Women Directors & Women In Film.
